The Rosary is a Scripture-based, Christ-centred prayer. Through its familiar prayers and mysteries, we contemplate the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus with Mary. You do not need to know every prayer, memorize every mystery, or worry about praying perfectly. This guide will walk with you, one bead at a time.

A five-decade Rosary uses one set of five mysteries. It may be prayed alone or with others, and you may offer a personal intention before beginning.
At the crucifix, make the Sign of the Cross and pray the Apostles' Creed.
On the first large bead, pray one Our Father.
On the next three small beads, pray three Hail Marys, traditionally for faith, hope, and charity.
Pray the Glory Be.
Announce the first mystery. A brief Scripture reading and quiet pause may follow. Pray one Our Father on the large bead.
Pray ten Hail Marys while contemplating the mystery.
Pray the Glory Be. The Fatima Prayer may be added.
Repeat for the remaining four mysteries.
After five decades, pray the Hail, Holy Queen and a customary concluding prayer.
Conclude with the Sign of the Cross.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

FATIMA PRAYER (OPTIONAL)
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen.
HAIL, HOLY QUEEN
Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
ROSARY PRAYER (OPTIONAL)
Let us pray,
O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal salvation. Grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that we may both imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Choose a quiet place, offer your intention, and begin with the Sign of the Cross. Prayer grows through faithfulness—one prayer, one decade, one bead at a time.
Closing customs vary. The Fatima Prayer and the Rosary Prayer are optional, and many Catholics conclude with the Hail, Holy Queen and a customary closing prayer. When praying the Rosary as a group, e.g. in a Catholic church before Mass, additional intentions and prayers may be added at the discretion of the parish or leader.
